A soulful Mehfil-e-Mushaira was recently hosted at the premises of Pakistan Consulate General in Glasgow to celebrate Pakistan’s rich poetic and cultural heritage.
The evening brought together a distinguished gathering of Urdu enthusiasts and poets, who captivated the audience with heartfelt recitations, creating an atmosphere of refined literary appreciation.
The poetry symposium paid tribute to the grandeur of Urdu literature and its enduring tradition of expressive depth and artistic beauty.
In his remarks, Consul General Summar Javed underscored the importance of such cultural initiatives in projecting Pakistan’s soft image and fostering greater appreciation of its literary and artistic legacy.
The evening concluded with the presentation of appreciation certificates to the participating poets, Tahir Bashir and Rahat Zahid, in recognition of their valuable contributions to the promotion of Urdu literature among the Pakistani diaspora in Scotland and their dedicated efforts to preserve and pass on this cherished literary tradition to future generations.
