Pak-Prism Report | Published August 27, 2026

Sindhis in Global Context: Past, Present, Future, and Origins (2600 BCE to…), is a 444-page non-fiction book by Dr. Maqbool A. Halepota. The book chronicles the history, culture, and enduring legacy of the Sindhi people from the Indus Valley Civilization to the modern global diaspora.

Authror Dr. Maqbool Halepota, president: Sindhi Association of North America (SANA), a recent post on X said that the book is now part of the collection of the New York Public Library (NYPL) and is available for scholarly reference at the historic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in New York City.

The write who is also president of Sindhi American Political Action Committee (SAPAC) and Sindhi Foundation (SF) said, “I am delighted and deeply honored to share some wonderful news. My book, Sindhis in Global Context: Past, Present, Future, and Origins (2600 BCE to…), is now part of the collection of the New York Public Library (NYPL) and is available for scholarly reference at the historic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in New York City. Seeing a work devoted to the history, identity, journey, and global presence of the Sindhi people housed in one of the world’s great libraries is a particularly meaningful moment for me. This is much more than a personal milestone.”

Dr. Halepota in his post said, “I hope it represents another small but important step toward ensuring that the story of Sindh and Sindhis, our ancient civilization, history, culture, struggles, achievements, and global diaspora – finds its rightful place in the world’s institutions of knowledge and scholarship. May our future generations continue to research, write, document, and tell the remarkable story of Sindh to the world.”
