Pakistan Envoy Confers Tamgha-e-
Imtiaz on Iftikhar Cheema in Kampala

Muhammad Hassan Wazir, high commissioner of Pakistan to Uganda, recently conferred Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, award of distinction, on Pakistan-origion Ugandan Iftikhar Sikandar Cheema.
The high commissioner honoured the exceptional Pakistani in Uganda on behalf of President of Pakistan. The event was attended by diplomats, government officials, and Pakistani diaspora.
The high commissioner said that the government of Pakistan honoured the diaspora in Africa for their exceptional work in strengthening Pakistan-Uganda relations and serving humanity. He also expressed his thanks to government of Uganda for hosting such enterprising Pakistani investors.
It may here be mentioned that over 10,000 Pakistanis have invested in Uganda and citizenship has been accorded to them due to the welcome accorded to the investors. Iftikhar Sikandar Cheema, president of the Overseas Pakistan Global Foundation Africa (OPGFA), has spearheaded the establishment of a Pakistani free eye care clinic in Ntinda that has led many people to recover their eyesight.
