Envoy Briefs Visiting Students on Pakistan’s

Perspective on International Law in The Hague

Syed Haider Shah, ambassador of Pakistan to The Netherlands, recently received a group of participants of The Hague Academy of International Law, undergoing a summer course in Public International Law, at Pakistan embassy.

The group, comprising different nationalities, was briefed about Pakistan’s foreign policy, Pakistan’s perspective on international law, bilateral relations with The Netherlands, and engagements with The Hague based international organizations including the OPCW – (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons), ICJ – (International Court of Justice), PCA – (Permanent Court of Arbitration), and HCCH – (Hague Conference on Private International Law), among others, the embassy noted in a press release.

Following the briefing, points of view were exchanged on different topics. The group of participants, comprising lawyers and academics, appreciated the opportunity to visit the Pakistan embassy, leading to a better understanding of Pakistan’s perspective on various issues.

“These visits are part of the embassy’s public diplomacy efforts to share Pakistan’s perspective among the youth. Through these initiatives, the embassy continues to foster closer linkages with educational and academic institution in the Netherlands,” the press release noted.
