Lahore Twinning Partnership

Summar Javed, consul general of Pakistan in Glasgow, recently attended the civic reception hosted by Lord Provost of Glasgow Dr Jacqueline McLaren marking the 20th anniversary of the Glasgow–Lahore Twinning Partnership.
Together, we look forward to expanding cooperation in trade, education, culture and youth. The 20th anniversary of the Glasgow–Lahore Twinning Partnership celebrated two decades of friendship and collaboration.
The Lahore Exhibition by Syeda Sadaf Anwar Zaidi highlighted Lahore’s rich heritage and explored migration, identity, justice and belonging.
A special tribute was paid to the late Councillor Hanzala Malik whose vision established the Glasgow–Lahore Twinning MoU. His legacy continues through cooperation in healthcare, education, emergency services and cultural exchange, strengthening ties between the two cities.
