BEOE Issues Warning for Pakistanis

against Azad Visa in Gulf States

Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has issued a stern public warning regarding the reality and legal dangers of the so-called Azad Visa (Independent Visa) in Gulf countries and other foreign states.

According to an official public notice issued recently by the bureau, entering a Gulf country under the sponsorship of one employer but working independently or for another employer elsewhere is a serious legal offense.

The authority warned that individuals caught violating these labor and immigration laws face severe legal consequences, including arrest, heavy monetary fines, deportation, and a potential lifetime ban from re-entering the host country.

The bureau has strongly advised the public not to pay any money to unauthorized agents or unverified individuals promising an Azad Visa. The notice emphasized that legally, there is no such thing as an Azad Visa that permits free, unsponsored employment in these regions.

For workers who wish to legally change their company or sponsor (Kafeel), the bureau outlined strict guidelines. A formal and legal transfer of sponsorship along with an official permission letter from the host country’s authorities is mandatory. Failing to acquire proper legal transfers will render the individual’s stay entirely illegal.

The notice further highlighted that only licensed Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) are legally responsible for protecting workers’ rights and interests, provided the worker has a formal, registered contract with the bureau of emigration.
