APAG Cares Organizes America at 250 Event,
Celebrates Pakistani-Americans’ Contributions

American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) recently organized ‘America at 250: Civic Education & Community Leadership’ event to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary while highlighting the vital contributions of the Pakistani-American community to the nation’s future.
In a post on social media, the group said that the event celebrated the community’s commitment to public service, civic engagement, leadership, volunteerism, and active participation in shaping America’s next chapter. Bringing together elected officials, community leaders, professionals, youth, the evening reaffirmed the importance of unity, civic responsibility, and strengthening the bonds that make the American nation stronger.
Led by Ali Rashid, the event was attended by Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, NYC Comptroller Mark Levine, Senator Toby Stavisky, Senator Kristen Gonzalez, Senator John Liu, Council Member Linda Lee, Council Member Phil Wong, Assembly Member Steve Raga, Vice Consul General Umar Sheikh, and Jan Kaiman, chief of staff from Congressman Tom Suozzi office. “APAG Cares were also proud to recognize three individuals whose leadership, dedication, and impact have made a meaningful difference in our community. Congratulations to our outstanding honorees: Sidra Qasim – Trailblazing Entrepreneurship Award; Inspector Adeel Rana – Distinguished Public Service Award; and Hassaan Chaudhary – Civic Leadership Award.”
Citations were also given to APAG Cares Women Youth members for their contributions and dedication. This event was also a reminder that all have a responsibility to give back through civic engagement, public service, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
APAG Cares will continue working to serve, organize, and empower the community for the next chapter of America.
