The recent 27th MED EXPO Tanzania in Dar es Salaam witnessed a strong Pakistani presence, with 19 renowned Pakistani pharmaceutical and surgical equipment companies showcasing their high-quality products, advanced technologies, and manufacturing capabilities.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Mohamed Mchengerwa, minister for Health of Tanzania, alongside Muhammad Azeem Khan, chargé d’affaires at Pakistan high commission, and Adeela Younas, trade officer at Pakistan high commission.
Addressing the gathering, the chargé d’affaires highlighted Pakistan’s growing capabilities in the pharmaceutical and medical equipment sectors, emphasizing that Pakistani manufacturers offer quality products, competitive prices, innovation, and substantial production capacity, stated the high commission in a press release.
He underscored the enormous potential for expanding Pakistan–Tanzania trade and investment cooperation in the healthcare sector, noting that Tanzania’s strategic geographical location and its role as a gateway to the wider East African market make it an important hub for Pakistani companies seeking to strengthen their presence in Africa.
In another gathering, the chargé d’affaires hosted a dinner for the participating exhibitors and their Tanzanian counterparts, providing an excellent platform for networking and strengthening business ties.
The mission also facilitated productive business-t-business meetings between Pakistani companies and Tanzanian business partners, aimed at exploring new avenues for trade, investment, and long-term cooperation in the healthcare sector.
