Abdul Hameed, ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, recently addressed a gathering of compatriots in the embassy and reiterated support for right of self-determination for Kashmiris.
In a post on X, the embassy noted; “The ambassador received a delegation of the concerned citizens in Japan and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity and moral and diplomatic support for the right of self-determination of people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.”
He highlighted the importance of January 5 as Right to Self-Determination Day, recalling the 1949 resolution of UNCIP (United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan) that guaranteed the right to a free and impartial plebiscite. The ambassador drew attention to the continued denial of this right while paying tribute to the resilience and steadfastness of the Kashmiri people.
