of Salalah Collection Center Services
Pak-Prism Report | Published July 22, 2026
Pakistan embassy in Muscat in a recent post on X clarified its decision of withdrawing services from Salalah Collection Center following the criticism by the Pakistani community in Oman.
“The embassy has received various opinions from our esteemed Pakistani community regarding the withdrawal of services from the Salalah Collection Center. The embassy respects public opinion and wishes to clarify that the decision to withdraw the Collection Center’s services was made after thorough consideration,” the post read.
In a formal public notification issued on July 21, 2026, the diplomatic mission outlined a revised strategy designed to enhance efficiency, eliminate unnecessary middleman expenses, and direct administrative support where it is most needed.
The embassy has significantly scaled up its mobile consular presence. Previously, team visits occurred only three times a year. Under the new schedule, consular teams now visit Salalah every month with no visit in March 2026 to regional situation.
General document attestations including marriage certificates, birth certificates, family registration certificates, police character certificates, and educational degrees will now be processed directly on-site during monthly visits without the extra service fees previously charged by the collection center.
Services requiring the physical presence of the applicant such as power of attorney, authority letters, affidavits, and agreement deeds will continue to be processed directly through the main embassy in Muscat, as was previously required.
Resident Pakistanis in Salalah are reminded that regular passport renewals and NICOP/NADRA identity card applications are processed through official digital platforms, specifically the online Passport Portal and NADRA’s Pak ID mobile application.
All applicants who submitted passport or identity card applications at the Salalah Collection Center until July 16, 2026, are requested to coordinate directly with the collection center management to receive their issued documents. The embassy of Pakistan will ensure all processed passports and cards applied for on or before July 16 are safely handed over to the center for final distribution.
Diplomatic officials emphasized that the decision was taken following thorough review and community feedback. By shifting routine attestations to direct monthly consular visits, the embassy aims to shorten long processing delays which previously took up to three weeks while ensuring financial relief for community members in Oman’s southern province.
