Pakistan HC Inaugurates Jinnah Digital
Skill Centre at Maldives Autism Centre

In commemoration of Quaid-e-Azam’s 150th birth anniversary, Vice Admiral (R) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, high commissioner (HC) of Pakistan along with Begum Humera Lodhi recently inaugurated ‘Jinnah Digital Skill Centre’ (JDSC) at Maldives Autism Centre (MAA) in Hulhumalé a long with the staff from the mission.
JDSC has been established with Pakistan’s support for children with autism syndrome. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Madam Ilham Hussain, former first lady, founder and chairperson of MAA, CEO Dr Ismail Shafeeu along with the management of MAA, teachers and children, the mission stated in a press release.
Madam Ilham Hussain expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to the government of Pakistan for the valuable assistance, noting that the first-ever digital skills center at MAA will greatly assist in imparting valuable vocational training and skill development for the children. She also reaffirmed commitment to continue working together for the special segment of society.
The high commissioner commended MAA’s commitment to create a better learning environment for children with autism spectrum, highlighting that Jinnah Digital Skill Centre is the symbol of historically strong bond of brotherhood between Pakistan and Maldives. It has been named after the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a special tribute to his people centric vision and iconic legacy. HC emphasized importance of the shared responsibility to provide the children with necessary care and environment to nurture and flourish in society as responsible citizens. He reaffirmed government of Pakistan’s commitment to working together with Maldives for shared objectives of peace and prosperity for the people.
HC along with the delegation also visited the new facility followed by an interactive session with faculty and students of the Autism Centre.
