Envoy Highlights AI Innovation, Seeks

Digital Cooperation with Kuwait

Pak-Prism Report | Published Oct 23, 2026

Dr. Zafar Iqbal, ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait, participated as a panelist in the International Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Digitization, held recently in Kuwait as part of Gulf Digitalization Week.

Speaking during the panel on Regional and International AI Policies and Policymakers, the ambassador highlighted Pakistan’s progress in digital transformation, its growing IT industry and the National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025.

He commended the visionary leadership of Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti government’s commitment to digital transformation under Kuwait Vision 2035. He also appreciated the contributions of Dr. Khaled Al-Zamel, chairman of CITRA Kuwait, towards advancing Kuwait’s digital ecosystem.

The ambassador highlighted the first Pakistan–Kuwait Tech Conference held in September 2025 and the opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation, particularly as Pakistan assumes the chairmanship of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) in 2026, following Kuwait’s chairmanship in 2025.

Emphasizing responsible AI governance, international partnerships and innovation, he encouraged entrepreneurs to develop practical AI solutions that address real-world challenges.

“Artificial intelligence should not merely be about adopting new technology. It should create jobs, improve public services and contribute to economic development,” said Ambassador Iqbal.
