Embassy Screens ‘Nayab’ Movie to
Promote Pakistani Culture in Madrid

As part of Pakistan’s ongoing cultural diplomacy initiatives, Embassy of Pakistan in Spain recently organized a special screening of the acclaimed Pakistani feature film ‘Nayab’ at the Cine MK2 Palacio de Hielo in Madrid.
Directed by Umair Nasir Ali, the film screening aimed to promote Pakistani cinema internationally while strengthening people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Spain, a press release by the embassy stated.
The event drew a diverse gathering, including members of the diplomatic corps, Spanish dignitaries, prominent civil society figures, and members of the Pakistani diaspora living in Spain.
The audience warmly received the movie, praising its engaging narrative, cultural authenticity, and rich portrayal of Pakistani family values and youth aspirations. ‘Nayab’ follows the inspiring journey and determination of a young Pakistani woman breaking barriers to pursue her passion for cricket.
Diplomatic officials noted that the screening offered Spanish audiences a unique opportunity to experience modern Pakistani cinema firsthand, fostering a deeper appreciation for Pakistan’s vibrant culture and societal diversity.
The screening formed part of a broader Pakistan Film Festival initiative in Spain, which has previously featured Pakistani film showcases in Málaga and Madrid. As part of this continuing cultural outreach, the embassy announced that another acclaimed Pakistani film, ‘Kan Nagar’ –directed by Talha Masood – is scheduled for screening in Madrid in October 2026.
Embassy of Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to leverage art, film, and cultural exchanges as effective tools for enhancing bilateral ties and building mutual understanding between the people of Pakistan and Spain.
