Pakistan Envoy Visits Art Museums,
State Cultural University in Yakutia

As part of his recent visit to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, ambassador of Pakistan to Russia, visited the National Art Museum of Yakutia, where he viewed an extensive collection showcasing the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the Yakut people.
“I have travelled to many countries around the world, but I have rarely encountered such remarkable and profound works. The talent of Yakut artists is truly impressive in its originality and strength,” a social media post by Pakistan embassy quoted Ambassador Tirmizi as saying.
The ambassador also visited the P. A. Lazarev Mammoth Museum, the only specialized museum in Russia and the world dedicated to the study and exhibition of mammoth fauna remains. He was briefed on the Museum’s internationally recognized collection, including the exceptionally well-preserved remains of the woolly mammoth “Yuka,” discovered on Maly Lyakhovsky Island in the New Siberian Islands and estimated to be approximately 10,000 years old – regarded as one of the most remarkable mammoth discoveries due to the exceptional preservation of its tissues.
The visits reflected the ambassador’s continued engagement with Yakutia’s rich cultural and scientific heritage.
Separately, the ambassador also visited Arctic State University of Culture and Arts in Yakutia, meeting First Vice-Rector Stanislav Ivanov along with students and faculty, and was briefed on the university’s programmes in music, theatre, visual arts and other creative disciplines.
The ambassador was also briefed on Yakutia’s growing film industry, with the iniversity inviting Pakistan to submit entries to its International Festival of Student and Debut Short Films, to be held on May 29–31 next year.
Ambassador Tirmizi remarked: “I was particularly impressed by the creativity and talent of the people of Yakutia, reflecting the Republic’s remarkable cultural richness.”
Both sides expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in education and cultural exchange.
